Mont Sainte-Marguerite wind farm

As part of Hydro-Québec's 2013 call for tenders from Pattern Canada together with Renewable Energy Systems Canada Inc. (RES Canada), the promoters of Mont Sainte-Marguerite (MSM) have formed a partnership with the municipalities of Saint-Sylvestre, Saint-Séverin and Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus. The project consists of 46 Siemens wind turbines of 3.2 MW each, generating a total capacity of 143 MW.

The wind farm is located on the territory of the regional county municipalities ("MRC") of Lotbinière, Robert-Cliche and Appalaches, within the municipal boundaries of Saint-Sylvestre, Saint-Séverin and Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus - about 50 km south of Quebec City and 15 km southwest of Sainte-Marie in the Chaudière-Appalaches administrative region. Entirely located on private land, the MSM project is mainly at the center of logging (wood products) and agroforestry (sugar bushes).

The commissioning of the Mont Sainte-Marguerite project took place in March 2018 and will provide Hydro-Québec Distribution with electricity for the next 25 years to comply with the agreement signed by both parties.
